Craig Butler, DVM
Retired Veterinarian
Dr. Butler is a 1977 graduate of the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to his education at Purdue, Dr. Butler graduated from Reitz High School and the University of Southern Indiana. In his senior year at Purdue (back in the “dark ages”), Dr. Butler won the coveted award for ‘Highest Clinical Proficiency in Both Small and Large Animals.’ He is a life member of the Purdue University Alumni Association. Upon graduation, Dr. Butler was engaged in Small Animal (primarily dog and cat) and Equine (horse) Veterinary Practice. His interest expanded to birds and exotic animals in 1981, and he became a veterinarian for Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Garden in 1982 and retired from that position in February 2007. That interest in birds, reptiles, and exotic animals has further expanded to such pets owned privately in Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky. He has been privileged to practice Veterinary Medicine in the Evansville area for 42 years and still has more “fun” days than “no fun” days.
